The distinctive styles of Kanye and Schoolboy Q shine through in “Jukebox Joints” and “Electric Body,” while their sounds are seamlessly melded into A$AP’s style. A$AP’s collaborations with other top-tier rap artists also produce amazing results. Rocky is basically a weed/drug rapper, none of his lyrics are really worth listening to. This track ends up being one of the best the album has to offer. ASAP Rocky’s tape is part of a trend of rap albums where the beats are amazing but the rapping and the lyrics in particular are really poor. “Everyday” showcases this fusion, where A$AP succeeds in integrating soulful music from an older generation into his more hardcore beats and raps. With this album, A$AP has been able to integrate all kinds of different music styles into the dark, haunting depths that compose his style of rap. Pulling samples from all different types of music and songs from an array of genres didn’t make A$AP’s project any easier. Filled to the brim with strong collaborations on all fronts, from tracks featuring Rod Stewart, Kanye West, and Schoolboy Q, to songs being produced by heavyweights such as Danger Mouse and Jeff Bhasker, At.$AP (stylized as A.L.L.A) was definitely a gamble.
A$AP Rocky has long been one of my favourite rappers, and this album did nothing but further cement my beliefs.
ASAP ROCKY NEW ALBUM 420 SERIES
Set in a Northeast town and a bordering Native American reservation, the series stars Helms and Jana Schmieding (“I Know This Much is True”) as friends caught in the drama over a proposal to move a statue of the town’s founder - it’s a traffic hazard.This was a powerhouse album to make. “Rutherford Falls” arrives Thursday on the Peacock streaming service with an impressive pedigree: It stars Ed Helms (“The Office”), who created the comedy along with Michael Schur (“Parks and Recreation”) and Sierra Teller Ornelas (“Superstore”). Olivia Holt and Chiara Aurelia star in the thriller set over three summers and debuting 9 p.m. When Kate vanishes from their small Texas town, Jeanette manages to fill her social vacuum - until questions arise about whether Kate’s disappearance may be linked to Jeanette, and the wrath of national scorn is unleashed.
Freeform’s “Cruel Summer” introduces us to Kate, a 1990s teenager with the world on a string, and Jeanette, the uncool girl who aspires to Kate’s life. Church co-wrote 22 of the 24 songs, with the exception of “Lynyrd Skynyrd Jones” and “Stick That In Your Country Song,” which was nominated for best country solo performance at last month’s Grammy Awards. “Soul,” out on Friday, includes nine more songs, and the project was written and recorded in 28 days when Church stayed in the mountains of North Carolina. Church released the nine-track set “Heart” on April 16 and on Tuesday he will drop “&,” which has six songs. Eric Church is releasing the final two parts of his three-album project, “Heart & Soul,” this week. Pat, Too $hort, Jaleel White and more will make appearances. ET and will feature performances by A$AP Rocky, Jhené Aiko and TOKiMONSTA, while Wiz Khalifa, Mike Tyson, G-Eazy, Ms.
